Starting the blog
Hey — I’m Evan. An Aussie climber sharing practical beta and local knowledge from the Blue Mountains, Jindabyne, and everywhere else I’ve been lucky enough to touch rock.
Hey — I’m Evan.
I’m an Aussie climber who’s been lucky enough to climb in a bunch of places around the world. The thing I keep noticing is that the best days rarely come from the fanciest plan — they come from good people, good timing, and a handful of small local details you usually only learn after you’ve done it the hard way.
These days I split my time between the Blue Mountains and Jindabyne. In winter I work as a backcountry guide through the snow season; outside of that I’m usually chasing rock, weather windows, and the kind of simple logistics that turn a “bit of a mission” into a genuinely good trip.
This blog is just my spot to share beta — the practical, real-world stuff that actually helps: what conditions were doing, what surprised me, what I’d pack next time, what I’d skip, and the little bits of local knowledge that make a huge difference (especially when you’re trying to fit big days into limited time).
If you’ve found your way here, welcome. I’m aiming for honest, specific, and actually useful — the kind of notes I always end up searching for the night before a trip.
